2.1 Information You Provide
- Account: Email address, password (hashed — never stored in plain text), display name.
- Profile: First name, partner's name, relationship stage, anniversary date, avatar.
- Couple Space: Messages, photos, memory notes, goals, mood check-ins, Daily Spark responses.
- Location (optional): GPS coordinates attached to Memory entries — opt-in only.
- Payment: Handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store payment details.
2.2 Automatically Collected
- Device type, OS version, app version, device identifiers.
- Usage data, crash reports, performance diagnostics — anonymized.
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not read message content for advertising or profiling.
- We do not collect your contacts, call history, or other app data.
- We do not track location in the background.
- We do not collect biometric data.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Operate the App: Authentication, couple space linking, Daily Sparks, data sync.
- AI Date Planner: City, budget, and stage sent to our AI provider to generate suggestions. Not stored beyond the session.
- Payments: Verify subscription status via Apple/Google.
- App improvement: Anonymized, aggregated usage analysis.
- Notifications: Push notifications — only if you opted in.
- Support: Respond to your inquiries.
- Legal compliance: Respond to lawful requests where required by law.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your conversations or memories with advertisers.
- Your Partner: Content you create in the Couple Space is visible to your linked partner — that is the core function of the app.
- Firebase (Google): Database, authentication, storage. GDPR-compliant data processing agreements in place.
- AI Provider: For AI Date Planner only — city, state, budget.
- Apple / Google: Subscription management only.
- Legal: If required by court order or law. We will notify you unless legally prohibited.
5. Encryption & Security
- AES-256: All Private Chat messages encrypted at rest.
- TLS 1.2+: All data in transit encrypted.
- Passwords: Hashed with bcrypt. Never stored in plaintext.
- Session tokens: Stored in encrypted device storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- Access controls: Employee access to user data is strictly limited and audited.
6. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Update information through app Profile settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account via More → Privacy & Account → Delete Account.
- Portability: Request an export of your data.
- Opt-out: Disable notifications anytime in app or device settings.
EU/UK users have additional GDPR rights. California residents have CCPA rights. Contact support@oursparks.app
7. Data Retention
- Profile, messages, memories deleted permanently within 30 days of account deletion.
- Backup copies purged within 90 days.
- Financial records retained for 7 years as required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
OurSparks is for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
